The West Feliciana Parish school system and the Audubon Market sponsored an art contest for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Students were invited to create original drawings, paintings or sketches that incorporated the new market and images of local history, culture or symbols in the artwork.

Twelve winners — a first, second and third place — were selected from each school within the district by judges from the West Feliciana Chamber of Commerce, Arts for All Foundation, Sarah Ferguson, David Norwood and district art teachers.

Results are as follows:

WEST FELICIANA HIGH: Grand prize winner and first place, Everitt Williamson, 10th grade; Best in Show Honorable Mention and second place, Summer Knight, ninth grade; and third place, Morgan Chism, ninth grade.

WEST FELICIANA MIDDLE: first place Alice Holland, seventh grade; second place Connor Cook, seventh grade; and third place Anna Kate Holmes, seventh grade.
