West Feliciana High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions Club promoted good decision-making during prom season through a slogan contest.

Jamie Martin, an 11th-grader, won for her slogan “All Life to Thrive, Don’t Drink and Drive.

The contest asked students to come up with a slogan that would remind students not to drink, use drugs or become distracted while driving during prom season.

Junior and senior classes were encouraged to create a slogan and compete for a $100 cash prize.

The winning theme was selected by members of the West Feliciana Parish Drug and Alcohol Awareness Council, and St. Francisville United Methodist Church donated the cash award to the winner.

Martin is the daughter of Allen and Tiffany Martin.

The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office, through the Drug and Alcohol Awareness Council, partnered with Roadrunner Wrecker and Central Graphics to provide a wrecked vehicle and banner displaying the winning theme.

West Feliciana’s prom was held April 15.
