The Stateline Raiders continue to play well on the Youth Basketball of America circuit.

The St. Francisville-based team, which includes Livonia and Zachary players, defeated Mandeville 3-0 at the annual Sportsman’s Classic June 6-7.

The tournament featured boys’ and girls’ teams in grades three through 12.

The victory over Mandeville improved the Raiders’ overall record to 22-3, according to coach Dedric Williams.

The team defeated the Slidell Dynamites 32-30 in the championship game that was led by guard Calvin Adams, a ninth-grader from Zachary.

Adams ended the tournament with a team-high 37 points while West Feliciana ninth-grade guard Chad Tillery followed with 21 points and eight steals.

Two freshmen from West Feliciana Parish also made an impact — guard Davon Harris, who contributed 19 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, and forward Antonio Whitaker, who had 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Up next, the Raiders will compete in the YBOA National Championship slated for July 26-30 in Orlando, Florida.

Besides basketball competition, the event will include achievement awards, skills contests, banner contests, entertainment and more, Williams said.
