Members of the Louisiana Vintage Dancers and the North Shore Vintage Dancers demonstrated dances popular during the early 1800s as part of the Jane Austen Day celebration at Oakley Plantation House inside Audubon State Historic Site on Aug. 29 in St. Francisville.

The novels of Austen featured stories that were set during the same time period that John James Audubon lived at Oakley House, working as a tutor and painting 32 of his world-famous works.
