Entergy’s River Bend Nuclear Station in West Feliciana Parish awarded a $5,000 grant to A Celebration of Literature and Art for its Writers and Readers Symposium and Writers’ Workshop, Feb. 20-21.

Elizabeth Fako, of Entergy, presented the grant to the CLA board on Jan. 21 at Hemingbough in St. Francisville.

The grant will help pay for travel accommodations for one of the symposium presenters, the workshop, event facilities and supplies.

“We are truly ecstatic that we received this funding. It is vital for us to put on a first-class symposium and workshop here in St. Francisville,” CLA President Olivia Pass said.

The symposium will include the following presenters: muralist Robert Dafford, photographer Philip Gould, authors Margaret McMullan and Michael Rubin and poet Mona Lisa Saloy.

Following the symposium, McMullan, who is sponsored by Entergy, will lead the Writers’ Workshop at the West Feliciana Parish Library, 5114 Burnett Road.

Tickets for both events are available at brownpapertickets.com, outreach.lsu.edu, Conundrum Books and Puzzles in St. Francisville or from CLA board members Allison Boyles, Sandy Parfait, Pass, Darlene Reaves and Cathy Troy.
