The West Feliciana Parish Council on Aging has begun its annual membership drive for anyone 18 and older regardless of age, income, race, religion or sex and who has a sincere interest in promoting services offered through the agency.
However, Council on Aging services are for seniors 60 and older and include daily lunches at the senior center, transportation, outreach, information and assistance, home-delivered meals, wellness exercises and other activities.

A trunk or treat event is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the West Feliciana Community Park.
Attendees are urged to bring a canned good for the West Feliciana Food Bank.
Activities include games, candy and a costume contest.
Sweet potato deadline
West Feliciana Parish 4-H urges residents to place their orders for baking size, kiln-dried, Louisiana-grown sweet potatoes by the end of the day Saturday.
Forty-pound boxes cost $20 each, and all orders must be prepaid by check or money order through a 4-H member or directly at the 4-H office, 5924 Commerce St., St. Francisville.
Orders also can be mailed to P.O. Box 1934, St. Francisville, LA 70775. Be sure to include name, phone number and number of boxes, or drop off your check or money order, made payable to the West Feliciana 4-H Foundation, by Saturday. Two shipments of the sweet potatoes are expected the second and third weeks in November.

Christmas tour discount
Friends of the West Feliciana Library reminds residents not to miss out on a chance to purchase Christmas Tour of Homes tickets at a reduced price.
Saturday is the last day to buy tickets at $20 each, saving $5 off the regular price of $25 and $10 off day-of-event tickets, which are $30.
To purchase in advance, visit the West Feliciana Parish Library, 5114 Burnett Road, St. Francisville, before 1 p.m. Saturday.
Beginning Sunday, tickets will go on sale for $25 and can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com or at the Parish Library, Louisiana Gift Basket Co., The Conundrum Book Store or at each of the homes on the tour.
The annual Christmas Tour of Homes is a fundraiser for the Audubon Library System. This year’s event is slated to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

Treats, tricks for Halloween
On Saturday, families are invited to trick or treat in St. Francisville from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Stores along Commerce, Ferdinand and Royal streets will feature candy and treats.
A fall festival is scheduled for Saturday at First Baptist Church in St. Francisville at the corner of U.S. 61 and La. 10 for children 12 and younger.
Also on Halloween, the St. Francisville Methodist Church will host a carnival from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Games, candy and trunk-or-treating will be featured.
Fall Fun Fest planned
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs’ Lagniappe Woman’s Club and the Baton Rouge Garden Club invite everyone to their annual Fall Fun Fest on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baton Rouge Garden Center, 7950 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge.
Cards and games, raffle drawings, a luncheon tea, bake sale, plant sale and seasonal decorations will be featured.
Tickets are $15 each and include lunch.

Candlelight tour planned
Take a step back in time while listening to legends and stories about the less-talked-about side of life at the Audubon State Historic Site during an All Hallows Eve candlelight tour scheduled for 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in St. Francisville.
Stroll through the plantation yard by lantern light, visiting cabins and exploring life for the enslaved of the plantation. Participants will pay their respects at the only remaining slave grave at Oakley Plantation.
