West Feliciana Parish Sheriff J. Austin Daniel has announced the 16th annual Kids Christmas event has been scheduled for Dec. 12 at West Feliciana Middle School, 9559 Bains Road, in St. Francisville.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. in the school gym. Santa is expected to arrive at 11:30 a.m., and toys and bicycles will be given away at noon.

Hot dogs, jambalaya and refreshments will be available.

Every child in attendance will get to choose one toy and be entered for a chance to win one of the many bicycles donated to the Kids Christmas program, which is in need of toys and monetary donations.

To donate, call Barbara Bonaventure at (225) 784-3109 or visit the Sheriff’s Office, 4789 Prosperity St., in St. Francisville.

“Everyone is invited to see the delight and excitement on these kids’ faces as they visit with Santa, select their toys and win bicycles,” Austin said. “We are honored to host this event annually and humbled by your outpouring of support. These gifts may be the only gifts some of these children receive, so your support is greatly appreciated.”
