The Iberville “Wall of Veterans” display is returning this year during the Nov. 11 “Salute to Veterans” ceremony. This year, residents have the option of submitting photos of armed forces veterans and active duty military personnel online.
Here’s the process: visit http://www.ibervilleparish.com/veterans and look for the section on submitting a photo for the Iberville Wall of Veterans. Click on that link, complete the form and submit a high-resolution photo of the veteran before Sept. 30.
Photos also can be taken to locations in Plaquemine, White Castle, St. Gabriel and Grosse Tete to be scanned.

Prevent child sex abuse
Darkness to Light Stewards of Children is a sexual abuse-prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. There will be a Darkness to Light training session on Tuesday at the Iberville Parish School Board Media Center, 58030 Plaquemine St., Plaquemine.
A night of music
The public is invited to “Pointe Coupee Lagniappe,” a musical showcase featuring four performers with ties to Pointe Coupee Parish.
Vocalists Ebony Benton, a graduate of Pointe Coupee Central High School, and Jamie Leonard, a Catholic High of Pointe Coupee alumnus, will join Jose Coloma and Yova Slessarera on the stage.
The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Poydras Center in New Roads.

The West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce will host the “Meet and Greet Candidate Night” event at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Addis Community Center.
Candidates running in legislative, parish and local races are invited to attend.
A power outage
About 5,700 Pointe Coupee Electric customers in the Waterloo, New Roads, Morganza, Quinton and Erwinville areas will be without power for about three hours starting about 11:45 p.m. Monday through 2:45 a.m. Tuesday while workers perform maintenance at one of the company’s meter points.

An alumni celebration
