A Jonesboro man wanted for attempted first-degree murder in West Baton Rouge Parish has been caught in Florida, the state Attorney General’s Office said Tuesday.

Sean Nixon Jr., 287 Industrial Drive, was also wanted for armed robbery and aggravated burglary on the suspicion he broke into a Port Allen home in September 2013 and beat and robbed a victim.

Nixon, 24, was arrested on Monday by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in Naples, Florida, after investigators with the Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit tracked him down, the Attorney General’s Office said in a new release.

The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are also credited by the Attorney General’s Office for aiding in Nixon’s capture.

Nixon will remain in the Collier County Jail until he is extradited by the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
