A 62-year-old Ventress man died Wednesday from injuries he suffered in a Sunday afternoon motorcycle crash in Pointe Coupee Parish, State Police said.
Donald R. Major was driving a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle at 1:45 p.m. Sunday on La. 415 when the crash occurred, said Sgt. Jared Sandifer, a State Police spokesman.
Major was on La. 415 north of La. 416, southeast of New Roads, when his motorcycle for unknown reasons went off the roadway on a left-hand curve, causing Major to be ejected, Sandifer said.
Even though he was wearing a helmet, Major suffered serious injuries from the crash and was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He died there about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Impairment is not a suspected factor in the crash, Sandifer said.
