The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a gas station Tuesday morning and briefly kidnapped the cashier before ultimately releasing her unharmed.

Det. Kevin Cyrus said a black male walked into the Chevron station, located at 111 Lobdell Highway, about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The man, who can be seen in surveillance footage dressed in slacks and a tie, robbed the store and kidnapped the cashier at gunpoint.

Cyrus said the man then forced the cashier to get into a black, small-to-midsize, four-door sedan being driven by a black female.

The couple later dropped the cashier off near Ozark Street and Plank Road. She was release unharmed, Cyrus said.

Anyone with information about this morning’s robbery or the people involved should call the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at (225) 382-5243.
