A Baton Rouge man suspected in the slaying of a Plaquemine man in his home during a robbery over the weekend was arrested and booked into the Parish Prison on Sunday night, authorities said Monday.
Cpl. Don Coppola, a Baton Rouge police spokesman, said Willie Thomas, 43, 3915 Chippewa St., Baton Rouge, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Sunday during a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Dalton Street.
Coppola said police pulled Thomas over after they received an anonymous tip that a man fitting Thomas’ description was spotted driving around in a white minivan in the 2900 block of North 38th Street.
The Plaquemine Police Department announced Sunday it was searching for Thomas in the robbery and homicide of Hashim Henderson, 34, 57810 Government St., Plaquemine, who they suspected was murdered by Thomas and two other people.
O n Saturday, police arrested Jacqueline Deloach, 42, and Alex Monterreo “Tank” Granville, 35, both of Plaquemine, and booked them into the Iberville Parish Jail on counts of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Coppola said Thomas was booked Sunday night into the East Baton Rouge Parish J ail as a fugitive of Plaquemine and for possession of marijuana.
Authorities said he will be moved to Plaquemine where he’ll be booked for first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Police said previously a friend found Henderson inside his home early Saturday morning. He died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
