PORT ALLEN — A West Baton Rouge Parish jury convicted a Port Allen man of raping a 14-year-old girl last year, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Kevan Clouatre, 25, was convicted Wednesday in the March 6, 2010, attack in which he provided an alcoholic beverage to the victim and then raped her, Assistant District Attorney Scotty Chabert Jr. said.
Clouatre’s wife was asleep in another room during the assault, Chabert said.
“This jury heard all the evidence and dispensed justice,” Chabert said. “This conviction gives the victim an opportunity to put this behind her and to move on to a successful life.”
Clouatre, 6937 U.S. 190 W., Apt. 9, faces between 10 and 25 years in prison at sentencing.
The case was tried in 18th Judicial District Court, which comprises Iberville, West Baton Rouge and Pointe Coupee parishes.
