BAYOU SORREL — An 18-year-old Baton Rouge man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday on La. 75 in Iberville Parish, State Police said.
Elin Colderon died of injuries suffered after he veered off the right side of the highway and struck an embankment, sending his vehicle airborne, Senior Trooper Bryan Lee said in a news release.
He said Colderon was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle when it overturned in the crash, which happened about 1 a.m..
Colderon, who was traveling northbound on La. 75 south of J.R. Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene by officials with the Iberville Parish Coroner's Office, Lee said.
He said impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash and a toxicology sample will be taken from Colderon for analysis.
