A Port Allen High athletics volunteer has been arrested and accused of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and five counts indecent behavior, according to a news release late Sunday from West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Mike Cazes.

The mother of a 15-year-old Port Allen High student reported to authorities that her daughter told her she had sex with an older man, Cazes said.

The girl is involved in athletics at the high school, Cazes said.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the offender was 30-year-old Donald Barbier, Cazes said.

Barbier is a Port Allen High graduate, played on the school's baseball team and has been volunteering with the school's athletics department, Cazes said.

Barbier met the girl in early January, and the two regularly communicated via social media, Cazes said. On the evening of Jan. 19, Barbier arrived at the girl's house where the two engaged in inappropriate behavior while she was home alone, the sheriff said.

Barbier also met with the victim several times after the incident during which he engaged in more inappropriate behavior with her, Cazes said.
