PLAQUEMINE — A public hearing on the inch-thick document detailing the Iberville Parish Council’s proposed $41.2 million 2014 budget and amendments to the 2013 budget will be held prior to the next meeting, Nov. 19.
And on Nov. 13, there will be a sale of properties adjudicated for nonpayment of taxes to be held in the courthouse lobby near the Sheriff’s Office at 10 a.m. Available properties are listed on the parish’s web site, Ibervilleparish.com.
“Since the list was published a few weeks ago at least five people came in, paid their taxes and redeemed their property,” Parish Administrator Edward “Lucky” Songy reported at Tuesday’s Parish Council meeting. “There are about 20 pieces to be sold. Most are in the Plaquemine area.”
Also Tuesday, the council approved the annual Trick or Treat schedule for unincorporated areas of the parish on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
