Zachary is in the process of updating residential gas and water meters as a part of its routine maintenance plan, the city's website said. An informational door hanger will be placed on all accessible exterior doors. It will outline procedures to be followed after the new meter has been installed.
City utility crews will install the new meters weekly until all of the residential upgrades have been completed. Workers will be wearing yellow reflective vests and have appropriate city of Zachary identification. Customers will not be charged for installation of the new meters.
Any questions concerning installation should be addressed to the City Utility Maintenance Office at (225) 654-0201.
