Zachary High School seniors Aleah Haynes and Tamia Veal, the only two 12th-graders on the girls basketball team, were honored Feb. 9 on Senior Night, prior to the team’s 58-52 win over Denham Springs.

Haynes, who plays small forward, point guard and shooting guard, is the daughter of Anthony and Kaylin Haynes.

Veal, who plays center and power forward, is the daughter of Michael Veal and Rashada Little.

The last time the Lady Broncos and Lady Hornets met, Denham Springs won 53-48.

The team, led by coach Michael Stephens and assistant coaches Jamar McKnight and Lisa Moffat, is 23-9 and 9-1 in District 4-5A.

The Lady Broncos will host Landry Walker in the first round of the playoffs at 7 p.m. Thursday at Zachary Youth Park.
