Pianist Angela Draghicescu, a native of Romania, will perform in concert April 19 at the The Pointe at Americana, the Regional Arts Council of Zachary announced.

Draghicescu serves as collaborative pianist at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.

She joined the university’s Department of Music in 2012 and has toured globally as a duo and chamber music pianist in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Benaroya Hall, George Enescu Philharmonic in Romania, Rudolfinium Auditorium in Prague, Mahidon Auditorium in Thailand, Hindemith Institute in Switzerland and other venues in France, Hungary and Norway.

Draghicescu received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance at LSU, where she was awarded the LSU scholarship in accompanying and the LSU Wind Ensemble Pianist Scholarship, according to a news release.

She also earned her doctorate as a full scholarship recipient in collaborative piano at the University of Texas at Austin under the mentoring of Anne Epperson. While at UT, Draghicescu also was awarded the Butler School of Music Assistantship in the chamber and collaborative piano departments.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available through ticketleap.com or at the door. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended, as seating is limited.
