To commemorate Voter Registration Week, Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, the East Baton Rouge Parish Registrar of Voters Office will be conducting a voter registration drive.

East Baton Rouge Parish residents who need to register to vote or update their registration may do so online at, in person at the nearest registrar of voters office or at the voter drive at the following East Baton Rouge Parish Library branches from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.:

SEPT. 1: Pride-Chaneyville, 13600 Pride-Port Hudson Road; and Scotlandville, 7373 Scenic Highway

SEPT. 2: Central, 11260 Joor Road

SEPT. 3: Greenwell Springs Regional, 11300 Greenwell Springs Road; and Zachary, 1900 Church St.

SEPT. 4: Baker, 3501 Groom Road

Parish registrar of voters offices are located in Baker at the Department of Motor Vehicles building, 250 Main St., and in Baton Rouge at City Hall, 222 St. Louis St., Room 201, or 10500 Coursey Blvd., Room 203, Court Plaza building.

Applicants registering to vote in person should bring the following valid identification that establishes identity, age and residency: a current Louisiana driver’s license, birth certificate or other documentation, such as a utility bill, payroll check or government document that includes name and address.

Applicants who are naturalized citizens also must bring their naturalization certificate or a current U.S. passport to show proof of citizenship.

To cast a ballot in the Oct. 24 election, citizens must be registered to vote by Sept. 23. Early voting will be held Oct. 10-17.
