From the kindergarten halls to the neighborhoods, Zachary area residents celebrated Halloween with costume contests and trick-or-treating.

Teachers and administrators at Northwestern Elementary School got into the Halloween spirit Oct. 31 by competing in a costume contest.

Kindergarten teachers from each hallway entered the contest as a team.

First- and second-place winners from each hallway earned bragging rights and prizes.

Winning teams were “Sesame Street” and “Hey Diddle Diddle” and second-place teams were “Five Little Pumpkins,” “One Fish, Two Fish” and “Angry Birds.”

In the Zachary community on Halloween night, trick-or-treaters in costumes of all colors, shapes and sizes dressed in extravagant, spooky and wild ways on a night that beckons you to flaunt what haunts you.
