The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre will conduct open auditions at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 15 for local advanced dancers for its 2015-16 season at the Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court, Baton Rouge.
This audition is for classically trained, advanced-level dancers who have been on pointe for at least two years, a news release said.
These advanced dancers will perform in BRBT’s “The Nutcracker — A Tale from the Bayou,” the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival’s Emerging Choreographer’s Performance, a weekend of classes with master dance faculty, seminars with experts and almost $40,000 in scholarship opportunities, the Gala Performance, as well as various community outreach performances.
All dancers should arrive at least 15 minutes before their audition time. Girls should wear a leotard and tights, and boys should wear white T-shirts with either black gym shorts or black tights. Audition fee is $10.
