The Broadway Boys are returning to Zachary for a Christmas concert thanks to the Regional Arts Council of Zachary.
The concert, which features a cast of the hottest male voices working on the New York stage, is at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6.
The Broadway Boys will perform a selection of pop, funk, gospel, jazz and folk songs as well as new arrangements of traditional, seasonal Christmas tunes and even a few Hanukkah songs, a Regional Arts Council news release said.
Representing songs from shows such as “Wicked,” “Mary Poppins,” “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” “Jersey Boys,” “Mamma Mia,” “The Book of Mormon,” “Hair,” “In The Heights,” “Memphis,” Motown” and more, the Broadway Boys will perform for about 500 guests from Zachary and the greater Baton Rouge area, said Gary Chaney, RACZ board member.
In addition to the Boys’ holiday performance, local young actors, singers and students will have the opportunity to participate in a master class with the cast. Members will coach class participants on a song from the show that will be performed onstage during the Dec. 6 performance.
“This opportunity provides wonderful professional exposure for our local talent,” Chaney said.
Zachary High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Center will host the event.
Applications for the master class are available online at www.raczonline.org, as are tickets to the show, which are $45 each.
Sponsorship packages are available for interested businesses.
RACZ members will receive a 10 percent discount on tickets by entering the code BOYS2014 at https://racz.ticketleap.com/broadway-boys-christmas-concert.
