Zachary Chief Administrative Officer Chris Calbert will be a featured speaker at the 2018 National Campus Safety Summit in Las Vegas from Feb. 19-23.

Most 2018 Safe Campus event attendees will be chief or director level first responders and emergency managers, educators and administrators who come from public and private colleges and universities across the country, a news release said.

Calbert will deliver a presentation titled “Terrorism: Thinking Globally, Reacting Locally.” He is a retired uniform patrol division and bomb squad commander with the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Following 32 years of combined law enforcement service, Calbert spent an additional 11 years as a Department of Justice and Department of Human Services consulting professional on the subject of explosives and improvised explosives devices. He also served as the senior resident lead instructor in a response to terrorist bombing course  at New Mexico Tech University in Socorro, New Mexico, where he also helped develop and deliver one of the Department of Human Services' top-rated training initiatives for first responders.
