A group of Zachary residents hosted a pastalaya fundraiser Oct. 30 for Landon Blackwell, 8, of Zachary, and newborn Luke Allen, of Baton Rouge.

Proceeds will benefit Landon, who has stage four neuroblastoma and is the son of Carl and Charlee Blackwell, and Luke, who has a heart condition and is the son of Baton Rouge police officers Kirt and Tamron Allen.

The volunteers included Shawn Pratt; Emily Nichols; Michael, Jennifer and Danny Kimble; Gordon Lipscomb; Jordan Charlet; Jimbo Nolan; Casey Phenald; Bryan Henderson; Cody Shaffer; Chris Landry; Renee Beadle; Amber Guidry; Shelby White; and Ashlee Anderson Pratt, among others.

The group purchased, cooked and served the pastalaya dinners to the community to help the two boys and their families.

Plates cost $7 each and included salad, bread and a cookie.

To donate to Landon or Luke, each has his own fundraising website at gofundme.org.
