Five Zachary High students were selected to participate in "The 300," a coastal program to provide students with hands-on learning and insights from some of Louisiana's leading coastal practitioners and policy makers.

Katie Mestayer, Craig Juneau, Laila Krzewinski, Corey Mason and McKenzie Young attended lectures from some of the state's top experts on March 6, the first of five events the students will attend.

The day included a visit to the new physical model of the Mississippi River at the LSU Center for River Studies.
