Don Clark, group executive director for the YMCA of the Capital Area, spoke April 23 at the Zachary Rotary Club’s meeting.

Clark was the guest of Zachary Rotarian Dillon Fulmer.

Clark, a Zachary resident, is in his 36th year with the YMCA and is the branch director for the Americana YMCA in Zachary, which opened in August 2013 and is the newest of the Y’s nine branches in the Baton Rouge area.

The Zachary Y is a 26,000-square-foot facility with an outdoor swimming pool and splash pad, tennis courts, group exercise studio, stationary bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, strength training equipment, a community room, Kids Zone, locker rooms and showers.

The Americana location has 1,034 units, or memberships, with 3,208 members.

Programs for both adults and youth include basketball, tennis, pickle ball, lap swimming, water exercises, summer camps, Kid Fit, Parents Night Out, teen leadership programs and volunteer opportunities.
