Capital Area CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Association has announced its 2016 board of directors.

CASA’s executive committee members include Chair Reginald Brown, Vice Chair Kristen Hogan, Secretary Katie Ruiz and Treasurer Allyson Sadler.

Newly elected to the board are Joy Michelle Boyd, Ryan Curtis, Joana Hernandez Edwards, Carlton Jones, Paulette Porter LaBostrie, Munzer Qaddourah, Lea Seelbach and Robin Toups. Returning members include David Faulk, Shirley Lewis, Jennifer Racca McDonough, Holly Sides, Nicki Skelton, Amanda Stout, Mary Thompson, Stephen Whalen and Robert Woosley.

CASA volunteers speak up for abused and neglected children in need of safe, permanent homes.

Volunteers are needed for CASA to continue providing an advocate for every child who needs one.

Attend a 45-minute orientation session and learn how to become a volunteer. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for noon Jan. 27; 1 p.m. Feb. 5; 10 a.m. Feb. 13; 12:30 p.m. Feb. 16; 6 p.m. Feb. 25; and noon Feb. 29.

All sessions are held at the CASA office, 848 Louisiana Ave., Baton Rouge.
