Patrons of the new Zaxby’s restaurant in Zachary didn’t let a little rainy weather stop them from lining up outdoors and waiting to be let in to order a meal on Dec. 21.
A promotion for the opening of the store was held for the first 100 dine-in guests only.
While lines formed, city officials, Chamber of Commerce representatives, members of the business community and Zaxby employees celebrated the opening of the new eatery with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Headquartered in Athens, Georgia, the first Zaxby’s was started by two boyhood friends, Zach and Tony, in Statesboro, Georgia.
There are now more than 700 franchises located throughout the Southeast U.S.
