The Pride-Chaneyville Library Branch, 13600 Pride-Port Hudson Road, is holding its ninth annual Community History Festival.
The free day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, and attendees are encouraged to dress the part for the rock 'n’ roll and sock hop theme.
Vintage games, crafts, music, food and more are planned. Other activities will include a live horseshoeing demonstration, farm animals, face painting, pumpkin painting, sack races and an old-fashioned cake walk.
Local vendors will be selling homemade and handcrafted items.

Anvil Attachments, in Slaughter, will host its fall blood drive from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in front of its facility at 261 La. 19. This is the 10th year the business has participated with United Blood Services. Anyone in the area is welcomed to stop by and help meet the critical need for blood.
Fall Art Crawl
The Regional Arts Council of Zachary is hosting its annual Fall Art Crawl from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3.
Local shops will be open late with artists selling their work along the route, and local musicians will be playing. Rouses Market will be serving complimentary wine at the Gazebo. The Little Gym is sponsoring activities for children at the Bauman House.

Beat Bama Bash
ZEPTO’s annual fall festival will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 4, at Copper Mill Elementary School. All proceeds from the event will support ZEPTO’s efforts on behalf of Zachary’s five elementary schools.
This year’s theme will be Beat Bama Bash, since the festival will be held in the morning on the day LSU takes on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.
Activity bracelets for the children cost $10 and include activities with BREC on the GEAUX, Cajun Cuties Mobile Petting Zoo, DJ Meatball, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office – MRT Boat and SWAT vehicle, MCC Inflatables, YMCA Americana Tennis, CrossFit Zachary and Zachary Fire Department. Others game and activity booths with prizes will be run by teachers. In addition, a silent auction is planned.
Children 3 and younger are free.
Pastalaya meal tickets are on sale now for $7. Order forms were sent home with students in early October and should be returned to school with payment by Oct. 27.
Raffle tickets for a vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas, or a cash prize of $800 will be on sale at the event.
