Dr. Jason Beeharilal, specializing in internal medicine and medical aesthetics services, has opened Premier Wellness Associates in Zachary on the campus of Lane Regional Medical Center.

Earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2001 at the age of 23, Dr. Bee, as his patients call him, began his residency training at Georgetown University, Washington Hospital Center, in his hometown of Washington, D.C.

Beeharilal then moved on to the Cleveland Clinic Health System in Ohio, where he completed his training as a chief resident at Huron Hospital and received the Resident of the Year award along with other accolades, according to a news release.

Beeharilal is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and pursued a preceptorship in Critical Care while working in Topeka, Kansas.

His clinical experience, tempered with a love for health and wellness, led him to form the practice and promote the concept of dynamic lifestyle enhancement, hospital officials said.

Beeharilal’s practice of aesthetic medicine helps patients meet their individual inward and outward wellness goals, the news release states.

Beeharilal resides in Port Allen, enjoys various physical fitness activities, draws in charcoal, pencil and ink, and plays Indian classical and folk music. He has a 4-year-old son, Avinash, and is training for his pilot’s license.

Beeharilal brings his range of interests to his practice, enabling him to relate to a vast array of people, according to Lane officials.

“I chose internal medicine, combining it with fitness and wellness, because I am interested in helping people reconceptualize the way they view their health, beginning with how they enhance through dynamic lifestyle enhancement and stress reduction,” Beeharilal says. “I also offer aesthetic services to help reduce wrinkles and collagen loss to achieve a client’s desired look and help them feel better about their overall appearance.”
