More than 500 students were recognized for their academic successes at Zachary High School’s Academic Honors ceremony April 20 at First Baptist Church of Zachary.

Incoming National Honor Society members were inducted by members.

Awards were presented to outstanding students who are Bronco Scholars; those who earned all A’s; those who have been named to the principal’s list and AB honor roll; and students who have earned first-year and second-year academic letters.

Students also received awards for achievement in the Accelerated Reader program, Literary Rally, Mock Trial and Quiz Bowl.

In addition, Trevor Humphrey received the Knights of Columbus Patriotic Award, presented annually to one student from the senior class by the Zachary High’s Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps.

Zachary’s principal, guidance department and the Knights of Columbus allow retired Army Maj. Leslie Martin, senior Army instructor at ZHS, to select the award recipient based on criteria established by the Knights of Columbus.
