Zachary Rotarians learned about Lane Regional Medical Center’s WellnessWorks program during a Feb. 25 meeting.

Krisi Carriere, manager of WellnessWorks at Lane Regional Medical Center, was the guest of Zachary Rotarian Theresa Payment, director of the LaneRMC Foundation, Feb. 25.

Carriere spoke about the free occupational health and wellness program offered to area employers.

“WellnessWorks is designed to work hand-in-hand with local employers and their employees’ many health needs,” Carriere said. “The program also assists companies with controlling costs associated with rising workers’ compensation and general health care.”

Carriere said the program includes four basic components:

INJURY PREVENTION: Provides on-site safety talks and schedules physicals, drug screens and breath alcohol testing.

INJURY INTERVENTION: Offers a cost-effective and efficient group of health care providers to help employers establish return-to-work strategies and minimize treatment time and lost work days.

SERVICE COORDINATION: A 24-hour centralized communication hub to assist employers with scheduling and tracking injury cases.

WELLNESS PROMOTION: Helps employers educate their workforce through a variety of on-site services such as health screening events, health risk assessments, disease education prevention and wellness talks.

Carriere encouraged employers to enroll in the WellnessWorks program and take advantage of the benefits offered.

“WellnessWorks is complimentary to all employers courtesy of Lane,” said Carriere. “Companies are not obligated to utilize all benefits provided and can simply apply parts of the program that fit their specific needs.”

“Regardless of the size of the business, we treat every participant like they are our only client,” Carriere said.
