Support for Heritage Ranch, a Christian children’s home in Zachary, came in the form of the seventh annual gala held at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge on Sept. 11.
As a signature fundraising event for Heritage Ranch, the gala featured more than 300 guests who participated in a silent and live auction.
The Wishing Tree provided an opportunity for attendees to give donations toward specific needs for the youths in the program, said Amy Horn, Ranch development director.
The more than $100,000 in proceeds raised at the gala will help provide housing, educational support and crisis counseling at the 52-acre facility on Tucker Road, which serves boys ages 13 to 18 amid personal or family crisis. The program works toward reunification between the teens and their families.
Food and refreshments were served by area restaurants, bakeries and beverage companies. Festivities included a performance by Stormy, a wine and dine pull, jewelry raffle and red carpet photography.
“This year’s gala was a huge success. We had wonderful attendance and earned record revenues,” Heritage Ranch Executive Director Vicki Ellis said. “We are already looking forward to expanding next year.”
Ellis said the support from corporate sponsors, guests and the event committee contributed to the overall success of the fundraiser.
