The Better Business Bureau of South Central Louisiana partnered with the Baker, Zachary and East Feliciana chambers of Commerce to host its Parish to Parish extended networking luncheon Feb. 3.

The BBB event is designed to provide networking opportunities for businesses and business professionals to meet and connect with others from around the region.

The luncheon was held at the Americana YMCA in Zachary and included about 100 chamber members and representatives from BBB-accredited businesses.

“This is a unique opportunity to meet and foster working relationships within the parish and with other accredited businesses in the regional area,” said B.J. Militello, director of business development for the BBB.

Zachary chamber Director Heather Prejean said a list of the business professionals, including contact information, will be circulated to all attendees for networking purposes.

Joining Militello and Prejean as hosts and organizers were Zachary chamber Executive Director Kate MacArthur, Baker chamber Director LaTania Anderson and East Feliciana chamber Director Audrey Faciane.

Area dignitaries in attendance included Slaughter Mayor Robbie Jackson, Zachary Superintendent Scott Devillier and East Feliciana Parish Manager and Treasurer John “JR” Rouchon.

Two brief business presentations were given by Jessica Ellis, of Landmark Bank, and Terrance Merkerson, of Pelican State Credit Union. Lunch was catered by Sammy’s Grill, and numerous door prizes were awarded.

Besides the networking luncheons, Militello said the BBB hosts breakfasts, seminars and various business-related programs.
