Lane Regional Medical Center has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission, a news release said.
Lane Regional is one of 22 hospitals in Louisiana and one of 1,224 hospitals in the U.S. to achieve the honor.
The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report — America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety — recognized Lane RMC for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase chances of healthy outcomes for patients, as well as attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care, the release said.
To earn the Top Performer distinction, hospitals had to meet three criteria in 2013 based on accountability measures data.
“Delivering the right treatment in the right way at the right time is not only what patients expect, but it is also a cornerstone of high-quality health care,” said Randy Olson, Lane CEO. “I commend the efforts of our team at Lane for their excellent performance in the use of evidence-based interventions. We are proud to be named a Top Performer as it recognizes the knowledge, teamwork and dedication of our entire hospital staff.”
