Stateline Raiders fall to champs _lowres

The Stateline Raiders 15-and-under basketball squad went 2-2 at the Amateur Athletic Union International Championships in Orlando, Florida, in July.

The summer league team — with players from Livonia, St. Francisville and Zachary — opened the tournament at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports with a 68-61 win over the Florida Gulf Coast Tigers before falling to eventual champion North Carolina Havoc.

The Raiders defeated the Georgia Macon Elite 56-27 with help from Zachary guard Calvin Adams, who led with 47 points.

West Feliciana Parish guard Davon Harris followed with 44 points, 21 steals and 15 assists, while Jadarion Davis, of Zachary, and Chad Tillery, of St. Francisville, each put up 32 points.

Davis had 15 rebounds, as well, along with Livonia forward Jaquan Battley, who blocked 10 shots.

The Stateline Raiders finished the summer with an overall record of 25-5.
