The Zachary Senior Center, an East Baton Rouge Council on Aging location, raised awareness for breast cancer by “pinking out” on Oct. 30.

Seniors from the Baker, Baton Rouge, Central and Zachary areas wore pink, participated in a fashion show, ate a breakfast of pink grits and eggs and participated in a fun day of activities, Center Director Renee Johnson said.

Two of the seniors who modeled in the fashion show are breast cancer survivors: Janelle Heatly and Mattie Sherman.

Daily activities at the Zachary Senior Center, La. 19, include exercise classes, daily meals, arts and crafts, games, Bible study, line dancing and outings.
