The Zachary Chamber of Commerce says it will no longer host the Zachary Arts and Music Festival, according to a news release.
“We thank the Zachary community, its members and volunteers for working together, supporting and attending ZFest for the past nine years,” chamber Director Heather Prejean said. “It’s a joy to host and promote an event that brings our families, friends and neighbors together for a weekend of entertainment.”
Over the years, the chamber has taken great strides in focusing on membership value and hosting events in support of its mission: to enhance and promote the business community, the release said.
“It is our sincere hope that another community group will step forward and assume the responsibility of hosting this awesome festival, which we would be happy to assist with and volunteer for moving forward,” Prejean said.
Everyone is encouraged to continue their involvement with chamber programs, such as the monthly Lunch and Learns; the annual Leadership North, a program that develops and educates emerging community leaders; the yearly business awards banquet; professional development opportunities; the Shop Local campaign; and the annual Zachary Christmas parade.
“We remain committed to promoting chamber members, advancing networking opportunities and advocating on behalf of the Zachary business community,” chamber Executive Director Kate MacArthur said. “The time dedicated to ZFest can now be better served focusing on primary initiatives in the business community.”
