Zachary Elementary School third- and fourth-graders are thrilled that their school’s library has received close to 500 new books.

The book titles were selected based on suggestions from students in Holly Marchiafava’s and Megan Noel’s English-language arts classes.

Librarian Suzanne Lemoine said it was a combination of the students’ persuasive writing and the need to replace some older books with newer versions that prompted the mid-February purchase.

She said the books were paid for with school and library funds.
