In observance of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on Oct. 15, a walk titled Baby Lane Remembers, in memory of babies who have died, will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Lane Regional Medical Center’s fitness trail, 6300 Main Street, Zachary.
The event will begin with an opening prayer and reflection followed by the remembrance walk around the half-mile track.
A highlight of the evening will be a candle-lighting ceremony and balloon release.
The walk is free, and everyone is invited.
Say ‘boo’ to the flu
FASTLane Urgent Care is offering drive-thru flu shots from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 19900 Old Scenic Highway, Zachary.
Shots are $25 each, but all participants will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 Visa gift card.

Boo at the Zoo
BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, 3601 Thomas Road, near Baker, invites participants to Boo at the Zoo, a merry-not-scary trick-or-treating extravaganza. Participants are urged to wear their best costumes and visit the zoo Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25. Admission gates will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Zoo grounds will close at 5 p.m.
Children can visit treat stations throughout the zoo, take a photograph at the Safari Snapshot booth, enjoy a Spooky Train Ride or wander through the fun Hay Maze and Enchanted Swamp. Regular Zoo admission applies.
School District tours
The Zachary Community School District will begin hosting monthly tours of all its schools.
The first school tour will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at Zachary High School, 4200 Bronco Lane. Parents and the community are invited.
Fall Art Crawl
Businesses will pair with local artists from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 23 for the annual Fall Art Crawl along Main Street.
Businesses will open their doors and feature special offers throughout the night, as well as work by area artists.

Students ready for ‘Rumors’
The Zachary High drama department is busy preparing for its upcoming Neil Simon play, “Rumors.”
This classic farcical play shows just what can happen as lies are told and confusions and miscommunications mount.
Show times at the Zachary Performing Arts Center are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 26; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 29; and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1.

Gleaux Run registration
Registration has opened for the third annual Gleaux Run slated for Nov. 6 and hosted by the Zachary Chamber of Commerce.
Participants and teams can sign up online at imathlete.com.
The event includes a 5K race, 1-mile fun run-walk at Americana, food, music, a blacklight photo booth, and awards for the male and female winners of each race.
A preparty begins at 5 p.m., and the race starts at 6 p.m.
