Zachary Rotarians gathered Oct. 23 for their annual shrimp boil.

Members of the service organization met at Rotarian Jack Burk’s house, where he and his wife Jenny hosted about 60 people for skeet shooting and boiled Louisiana shrimp.

The event marked the end of a six-week perfect attendance contest.

The contest calls for Rotarians to divide into two teams, and the team with the most missed meetings must clean up after the winning team at the shrimp boil.

This year, L.T. Dupré and Sharon Phillips were team captains. Phillips’ team won.

Some members engaged in shooting clay disks that were flung from a skeet station owned by Rotarian John Dry.

The Rotary Club of Zachary has about 65 members and meets at noon every Thursday in the meeting room at First Baptist Church, just inside the Old Baker Road entrance, in Zachary.
