The Zachary Advocate and Plainsman’s recent Spotlight Classroom was Martha Tassin’s 2014-15 kindergartners at Northwestern Elementary School. The students were asked:

  • What is your favorite movie, and why?
  • ALIA ANDERSON: “Finding Nemo” because the movie was funny with Dory the fish.
  • BRAYLON BEAUVIA: “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water” because SpongeBob is my favorite character.
  • JAZMIN COLEMAN: “Frozen” because I liked the clothes that Elsa and Anna wore.
  • LAILA ESNAULT: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” — I like that they fight the bad guys when they are bad.
  • BRYCE GORDON: “Sponge Out of Water” because the movie had heroes, and the dolphin made SpongeBob and his friends look like heroes.
  • CHRISTIAN HEUGHAN: “Wild Kratts.” They talk about different animals and I like to learn about different animals.
  • KENRIC HILTON: “Bubble Guppies.” It’s a movie.
  • CHARLES LARKIN: “Planes” because they fly and went really high.
  • ERICA MAYES: “The Sandlot.” My brothers play baseball and it was funny when the boys got scared by the big dog and when they threw up on the ride.
  • COOPER MITCHELL: “Frozen.” I liked it.
  • KRISTOPHER NAQUIN: “Finding Bigfoot.”
  • MEGAN ROUSSELL: “Maleficent.” I liked the story.
  • JOSHUA RUBEN: “Frozen” — it was fun.
  • RAYLEIGH SEBREN: “Frozen” because Elsa had ice powers, and I want to be like that.
  • BEAU TATE: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” because ninja turtles are cool, and I want to be like Raphael because he is good at fighting crime.
  • MAX THOMPSON: “Big Hero 6.” I thought Baymax was like a walking marshmallow, and I thought that was funny.
  • STELLA VENABLE: “Frozen.” Elsa sings “Let It Go,” and it is so beautiful.
  • AMIYA WILLIAMS: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” because they work together as brothers to fight the bad guys, and they don’t fight each other.
  • LYDIA WILLIAMS: “A Mermaid Tale” because it was a happy movie.
