In case you hadn’t noticed — but how could you miss it? — Main Street in Zachary is now five lanes.
After more than a year of construction, the fifth, or center, lane of the stretch of La. 64 from La. 19 to McHugh Road has been completed. Traffic appears to be flowing smoothly and those obnoxious but necessary orange cones and barrels are gone, as well as the nighttime noise from road crews.
Though I have yet to make a left turn in either direction on Main, I’m certain I will enjoy doing so without holding up traffic.
Happy safe driving, y’all.
