Runners or walkers, it’s time to break out the glow sticks and all things neon for the Zachary Gleaux Run, a nighttime experience that’s less about how fast you run and more about enjoying the music-filled glowing course with family and friends, organizers said.

The second annual Zachary Gleaux Run, a Zachary Chamber event, is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 inside the Americana development on La. 64 in Zachary.

Prior to the Gleaux Run, a party at Americana’s YMCA, 4200 Liberty Way, will feature face painting, a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt, glow-stick balloon ghosts and more.

The 1-mile fun run/walk begins at 5:45 p.m., with the 5K taking off at 6 p.m.

Casual walkers and avid runner of all ages are invited, the Zachary Gleaux Run organizers said.

The Gleaux Run course is about 3.1 miles, featuring a black-light zone, a glowing after-party tent and hundreds of runners decked out in glow gear.

Runners and walkers can register as individuals or sign up as a team of four or more.

All runners and walkers participating in the Gleaux Run will receive:

a long-sleeved Gleaux Run T-shirt

glow items so you glow on the course

entry into the post-race glow party with food and drinks.

Registration fee for fun run/walk is $5. Fees for the 5K are free for children 4 and younger; $5 for ages 5-11; $10 for ages 12-17; and $20 for ages 18 and older. If registering after Nov. 1, entry fee is $25.
