RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas — Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has appointed Arkansas Tech University faculty member H. Micheal Tarver, of Clarksville, to the Arkansas History Commission for a term due to expire on Jan. 14, 2025.

Tarver, a 1976 graduate of Zachary High School, is the son of the late Rosemary Denova Tarver, a longtime Zachary resident until her death in 1999.

Tarver, a professor of history, holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He earned his doctorate of philosophy from Bowling Green State University and has served on the ATU faculty since 2002.
