The Regional Arts Council of Zachary will present a master class and performance opportunity for local youth.

A master class workshop with the Broadway Boys, New York’s hottest male voices on Broadway stages, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Zachary High School Visual and Performing Arts Center, 4100 Bronco Lane.

The event, for local youth in grades 6-12, is part of the council’s mission to nourish the development of youth, said Margaret Harmon, of the Regional Arts Council.

The Broadway Boys cast will spend time with each young performer providing individual attention and feedback as well as giving the entire class inside knowledge, tips and pointers on auditioning, Harmon said.

The two-hour master class will include work on vocal techniques, choreography, stage presence and more.

Each class participant will be included in a group number during the Broadway Boys’ show on Dec. 6 in Zachary.

Youth must fill out an application by the deadline, Dec. 1, and mail it to Margaret Harmon, 6401 Main St. #44, Zachary, LA 70791.

For information, contact Harmon at (225) 788-5999. Cost to attend the master class is $90 and includes one ticket to the Broadway Boys performance on Dec. 6.
