Baton Rouge Community College announced an intensive eight-week Certified Nursing Assistant program in East Feliciana Parish.

The course will be held at the BRCC Jackson campus, 3337 La. 10, from March 9 through May 6.

“The need has never been greater for health care professionals,” said program instructor Brenda Williams, a licensed practical nurse. “This program will play an important role in connecting individuals from area communities to the workforce needs throughout the region.”

Classes will meet from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and financial aid is available for students who qualify.

Applicants must take an entrance test, which can be met through acceptable Compass or ACT reading scores. Compass testing is available at BRCC’s Jackson campus.

Applicants also are required to submit a state-level criminal background check and health screening.
