Fundraisers for Taylor Law

Two fundraisers are planned for Zachary High senior and band student Taylor Law on April 30.

Beginning at 11 a.m., Boy Scout Troop 472 will be selling jambalaya dinners in front of Zachary City Hall.

At 6 p.m., Troop 472 will host the Taylor Law Rock-a-Thon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary.

Law, who is an Eagle Scout and member of his church youth group and praise and worship band, is receiving treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston for an aggressive form of Burkitt’s lymphoma.

Students in grades seven through 12 are pledging to spend time in a rocking chair and seeking sponsorships for each hour they rock. All proceeds from both events will go to Law and his family to help pay for expenses and treatment.

To donate food or beverages to either event, to sponsor a youth in the Rock-a-Thon or to donate money to the Law family, email Dave Scherrer at rocking4taylor@gmail.com or text (225) 773-1384.
