The Rotary Club of Zachary conducts a perfect attendance contest each year in an effort to promote membership and club unity.

For about six weeks, the club’s 59 active members divide into two teams and are encouraged by a team captain to attend all meetings during the contest.

At the end of the perfect attendance period, the groups celebrate with food, fun and fellowship during a shrimp boil and skeet shooting event, with the losing team cleaning up after the winning team.

This year, Mary Landry’s team lost to Dillon Fulmer’s team.

The shrimp boil, held Oct. 22 at Rotarian Jack Burk’s house, was well-attended.

Guests included Zachary Mayor David Amrhein and his wife, Robyn; Metro Councilman Trae Welch; and state Rep. Kenny Havard, District 62, and his wife, Shondell.
